Though I am not involved in any way in the radio industry, I can share with everyone the sadness at the passing of Dan Ingram. I grew up in what I consider the golden radio era in the 1960'-70's, specifically WABC and WMCA. Dan, along with his gpod friend Ron Lundy were without a doubt my favorite DJ's during those incredible times, I followed all of the DJ's and visit this site to learn of any updates on these "strangers", that were my "friends" over the air, and of course to listen to the air checks. When Ron Lundy passed away, I was heartbroken for someone I never had the pleasure to meet, and now I learn of Dan's passing by listening to Scott Shannon's True Oldies channel, I sit now in my office in a veritable state of shock, and sadness, though I knew it was inevitable, the passing of one of my idols is just so hard to bear, it seems as if a little of me has died with them. People these days have no idea what the world was like in those days and how much these people affected our lives, they were part of the family. I would fall asleep with my transistor radio listening to Cousin Brucie, Chuck Leonard, my parents couldn't understand how I went through so many batteries during the week...Dan's sense of humor and comic timing was incredible. Several years ago, I had my now grown children listen to some old sound checks etc., ...after which they said that they know now why I am so strange...and happy to be so. ...God Bless you Dan, Say Hi to Ron for me.
