"Stern is an old radio guy himself now, and irrelevant."

It's amazing how well irrelevancy pays these days:

"In 2015, Forbes placed Stern as the world's highest paid media personality and the fifth highest earning celebrity worldwide, at $95 million."

"Maybe [Stern is] bitter that time has left him behind, and he hasn't been able to leave the same type of legacy as Ingram and company."

I doubt it.

"Howard Stern ... has a net worth of $600 million and annual salary of $90 million. He is arguably the most successful radio host of all time."

While money is not an indicator of quality, it is an indicator of popularity. Those saying Stern has become a has-been don't know what they are talking about. He recently signed a new contract with Sirius/XM for some unbelievable annual salary for doing three shows a week and only working around 35 weeks a year.
