It does, and it doesn't Cary.

SiriusXM's First Wave channel does play many of the hits that WLIR played, but their playlist seems to have a lot more in common with MTV playlist from the 80's more than WLIR's playlist.

So while WLIR played both Limahl and Yello (quite a lot), I think it's quite doubtful that either would ever be played on SiriusXM's First Wave channel. That's not to say "never," but I think the people programming First Wave would probably choose The Police and The B-52's anytime, over The Dammed and/or The Stone Roses.

I believe that on last year's Fourth of July, First Wave went deep into their New Wave catalog and played a lot of songs that I hadn't heard on the radio in years. Unfortunately, they didn't do it this year. I'm just hoping that I didn't have my holidays mixed up. Maybe I should have been listening in on Memorial Day weekend during those rare moments when I wasn't listening to Rewound Radio's Musicradio 77 WABC marathon.

Trivia Question: What group did Limahl leave to go solo from, and what was that group's big hit?

Answer (below):

Limahl was the lead singer of Kajagoogoo, and their biggest hit was "Too Shy (Hush Hush, Eye to Eye)"
